04 Feb LOOK AHEAD: The Writers’ Playground at the Union Theatre

Fairground Theatre Company have announced the date of their next Writers’ Playground, to be held on Sunday 15th February at the Union Theatre. Bringing together some of the best musical theatre writing talent in the country for one evening only, The Writers’ Playground showcases and celebrates the work of established and upcoming British writers.

After a sell-out debut concert in September 2014 at the Union Theatre, Fairground have invited more writers to the playground to share their work and show London audiences what British musical theatre has to offer.

The line-up includes: Dougal Irvine (Departure Lounge, In Touch); Tim Gilvin (2014 S&S Award Winner for Stay Awake Jake, Gap Year); Rebecca Applin (2014 S&S Award Highly Commended, Sex and the Village, Jabberwocky); Dan Looney (The Confession Room, Swear Our Love); Smith & Williams (Part A, The Suicide Shop); Sophie Reid (The Fear Conundrum).

Founded by John Kristian and Kayleigh McKnight, Fairground Theatre Company is a company dedicated to the development of new musical theatre writing. The company was set up to promote the wealth of talent that is available and unexplored in Britain, as well as developing and promoting the work of undiscovered writing talent.
