Simon Paisley Day (Musketeers, Doctor Who, Titanic, Sherlock, Spartacus, Being Human) will be reprising his critically-acclaimed role as the tyrannical Caldwell B. Cladwell, the machiavellian Head of UGC (Urine Good Company) in the West End transfer of Jamie Lloyd’s ground breaking, splash hit production of URINETOWN The Musical.

Returning to the show after its sell out season at The St James Theatre, rising star Matthew Seadon-Young will be taking on a new role, as Bobby Strong, Urinetown’s most unlikely hero, alongside BBC’s The Voice star Nathan Amzi who will be playing the role of Officer Barrel.

Further cast announced today for Urinetown The Musical are Alasdair Buchan (Swing), Christina Modestou (Swing), Kane Oliver Parry (Robbie The Stockfish) and Vicki Lee Taylor (Swing). Urinetown

Jamie Lloyd, Director, “I am really excited that we now have the full cast for our West End transfer of Urinetown. It is great that the brilliantly talented Simon Paisley Day is reprising the role of Caldwell B. Cladwell for our run at the Apollo Theatre. I am also thrilled that Matthew Seadon-Young will be getting the opportunity to play Bobby Strong. He is an extraordinary talent and very much a rising star to watch. I am looking forward to what he will bring to the role for our West End audiences. I saw Nathan Amzi’s fantastic performance in In The Heights, and obviously he is well known for his recent stint on the BBC’s hit show The Voice UK, and I know he will add another dimension to our multi-talented cast”.

They join the previously announced Olivier Award-winning & Tony Nominee Jenna Russell (Penelope Pennywise), star of the RSC Jonathan Slinger (Officer Lockstock), EastEnders’ Marc Elliott (Mr. McQueen), Chris Bennett (Swing), Katie Bernstein (Little Becky Two Shoes/Mrs. Millennium), Cory English (Old Man Strong/Hot Blades Harry), Madeleine Harland (Soupy Sue), Rosanna Hyland (Hope Cladwell), Karis Jack (Little Sally), Julie Jupp (Old Woman/Josephine Strong), Aaron Lee Lambert (Billy Boy Bill), Mark Meadows (Senator Fipp), Joel Montague (Swing) and Jeff Nicholson (Tiny Tom/Dr. Billeaux), who all appeared in Urinetown’s original UK premiere run at the St James Theatre.

Director Jamie Lloyd’s critically-acclaimed, sell-out production of Urinetown The Musical, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, will transfer to the Apollo Theatre from 29 September 2014. Richard Fitch is the Associate Director.

The production is designed by Evening Standard award winner Soutra Gilmour with choreography by Ann Yee, lighting design by Adam Silverman, sound design by Terry Jardine & Nick Lidster, casting by David Grindrod Associates, wig & hair design by Richard Mawbey, fight direction by Kate Waters, orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin and musical supervision & direction by Alan Williams.
