11 Jul Casting for West End Transfer of Urinetown

It has been reported that Jenna Russell and Jonathan Slinger are set to star in West End transfer of Urinetown, arriving at the Apollo Theatre on 29th September. Jenna Russell is expected to reprise her role as Penelope Pennywise, with Slinger back as Officer Lockstock, following their hugely successful run at the St James Theatre this spring.

However, there are set to be some casting changes including a new Bobby Strong, as Richard Fleeshman has explained on social media that he cannot be a part of the transfer:

We’ll bring you further casting news as it is announced.

Despite the off-putting title, the musical comedy made a real splash during it’s run at the St James, satirising politics, justice and capitalism, and making important political points through the medium of humour. Jamie Lloyd’s production opens at the Apollo Theatre on Monday 29th September 2014, and is currently booking until Saturday 24th January 2015.
