17 Aug Richard Schiff and Nigel Lindsay join Lindsay Lohan in Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet

Theatre Royal Bath Productions have announced that actors Richard Schiff and Nigel Lindsay are to join Lindsay Lohan in David Mamet’s SPEED-THE-PLOW at London’s Playhouse Theatre from 24th September. A high-octane modern classic, Speed-the-Plow is a brilliantly satirical portrayal of Hollywood filled with Mamet’s trademark wit and mesmerizing dialogue.

When a hugely bankable star agrees to appear in a sure-fire commercial hit, film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox are convinced this is the break of a lifetime. That is until Karen (played by Lindsay Lohan), a temporary secretary, derails the dream. When she persuades Bobby to dump the blockbuster in favour of a story which can only be described as box-office poison, Charlie is forced to resort to desperate measures….

The stage debut adds to Lohan’s long list of credits, but she is best known for her starring role in Mean Girls with Tina Fey.

Richard Schiff plays Bobby Gould, who may be familiar from his career-defining portrayal of Communications Director Toby Ziegler on the acclaimed NBC series The West Wing. He won an Emmy for the role and received three nominations in total, in addition to winning two SAG Awards. Schiff has more recently recurred on multiple television series, including Murder in the First (TNT), Manhatten (WGN), House of Lies (Showtime), and Once Upon a Time (ABC).

Nigel Lindsay has been case as Charlie Fox; he has theatrical experience including Mugsy in Dealer’s Choice, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls and an Olivier nomination for Shrek in Shrek the Musical in the West End. He is currently starring in A Small Family Business at the National Theatre.

Speed-the-Plow is presented by Danny Moar and Simon Friend for Theatre Royal Bath Productions. Recent West End credits for Theatre Royal Bath Productions includes Relative Values (Harold Pinter Theatre), Another Country (Trafalgar Studios), Relatively Speaking (Wyndham’s Theatre) and Fences (Duchess Theatre).

Speed-the-Plow will be previewing from Wednesday 24th September, opening 2nd October and running until aturday 29th November. It will be showing at the Playhouse Theatre
