31 Oct LOOK AHEAD: The East End Literary Salon
On Sunday 2nd November, at the Ophelia in Dalston, will be the third edition of the East End Literary Salon. Always on the look out for new theatrical writing, this promises to be an exciting prospect…
The East End Literary Salon presents a night of new theatrical writing from five of the finest emerging playwrights. Be amazed by daring flights of fancy! Be astounded by soaring literary imaginings! Be astonished by the words and visions presented for your pleasure this evening, on the theme of great escapes.
So come down on your plates and have a butcher’s, and if you like what you see, dig deep and splash some dosh. This theatre lark isn’t going to pay for itself, me old China.
Artistic Director Milla Jackson says ‘The salons are a safe space for emerging playwrights to have their work performed with a platform for drinks and discussion afterwards. Styled after Paris in the 1700s and the 1920s, we’re inspired by Madame Geoffrin and Gertrude Stein, with an East End touch – so get as gobby as you like, there’s no room for passivity here.’
The November salon features works from Sean Cook, Rosy Deacon, Oliver Gamblin, Christian Graham, Adam Hughes and Oliver Kendall. Directed by Milla Jackson.
